Rencontres avant Noël - Meetings before Noël

Ces derniers jours ont été riches en rencontres, toutes très chaleureuses.

These last days have been rich in meetings, all really warm.

Tout d'abord un couple d'américains adorables, Sylvia and Larry, qui sont arrivés sur Portland il y a un an et demi, une après-midi sympa pour fêter notre arrivée, vin, bierre et moules frites :))) en plus des gâteaux faits maison!

First an american couple, kind people , Sylvia and Larry, who arrived in Portland one year and half ago, a nice afternoon to celebrate our arrival, vine, beer, mussels and french fries :))) in addition some home made cookies!

Le lendemain nous avons fait la connaissance de Marie-Pierre, la prof de Français d'Harry (notre hôte qui est actuellement en France) qui nous a fait découvrir un faubourg très sympa de Portland, ainsi qu'une amie à elle. Elles sont toutes les deux françaises et sont venues aux USA à l'âge de 20 ans.

The day after we have met Marie-Pierre, Harry's (our host who is now in France) french teacher who made us discover a really nice suburb of Portland, and a friend of her. They are both french and came in USA at the age of 20 years old.

Et le jour suivant nous avons revu Brigitte, que nous avons connu grâce à Pascal qui vit à San Francisco. Nous avions fait sa connaissance comme celle de Sylvia, il y a 6 mois quand nous sommes venus sur Portland. Et avec elle nous avons découvert un petit café très sympa pour partager un très bon repas de midi.

And the day after we have seen again Brigitte, that we have met thanks to Pascal who live in San Francisco. We have seen her as Sylvia, 6 months ago when we came in Portland. And with her we have discovered a nice small cafe to share a really good lunch.

Aujourd'hui c'est le réveillon de Noël et nous sommes invités par le cousin de Xelhà (notre fille mexicaine qui est restée 3 ans chez nous) pour la soirée chez sa belle-mère. Pour l'occasion nous devons amener un dessert français ........ alors je fais des crêpes et des caramels !!! Et voilà la première production "made in USA" :)))

Today it's Christmas Eve and we are invited by Xelhà 's(our mexicain daughter who was 3 years at home) cousin, for the evening at his mother in law home. For this event we have to bring a french desert .... so I make crepes and caramels !!!! And here is the first production "made in USA" :)))

Cette semaine nous avons aussi reçu un email de nos Hôtes Lisa et Harry qui s'inquiètent de notre confort, aussi l'adorable Harry a commandé une télé pour que nous puissions en profiter avant leur retour, il avait aussi commandé un canapé et un fauteuil dans le même état d'esprit ! Peut-on rêver meilleurs amis???? Et Lisa nous dit le seul problème c'est qu'il n'y a pas encore de meuble pour poser la télé donc essayez de trouver une solution en attendant.... et bien il suffit de demander! le soir même en nous promenant dans le quartier nous avons trouvé sur le trottoir .... une table, que nous avons bien sûr récupérée :))) (on ne se refait pas!!!)

This week we had an email from our hosts Lisa and Harry who are worried about our comfort, so lovely Harry has ordered a TV to enjoy it before they return, he has also ordered a sofa and armchair in the same way of thinking! Can we dream of better friends???? And Lisa said the only problem is that we don't have yet a furniture to put the TV, so try to find a solution .... and just ask! the same evening walking in the district we founded on the sidewalk.... a table, and we took it for sure :))) (always the same!!!)

Et voilà une semaine qui se termine avec la magie de Noël dans une fantastique et accueillante famille mexicaine.

And so one week which is finishing with the Christmas charm in an amazing welcoming mexican family!!!
